It's World Health Day!

And, what better way to celebrate than a good ole' health kick?

You might have started back in January with a new year, new me mindset. Maybe things went a little sideways after a few too many rest days, or maybe you just need that little bit of extra motivation.

Either way, we're here to remind you of some healthy habits we think everyone should be picking up!

Here's our top 5:

1. EAT BREAKFAST

Sounds easy, right? You'd think so. According to research, only half of us actually eat breakfast.

There's a reason it's said to be the most important meal of the day - a good breakfast is fuel for your day and provides the energy you need for what lies ahead.

Without breakfast, you can become increasingly tired, unmotivated and sluggish.

2. DRINK MORE WATER

Not only has water been shown to boost your metabolic rate, but drinking more water can improve your skin, energy levels and physical performance.

What are you waiting for? Fill up your glass.

3. SLEEP, SLEEP, SLEEP.

Often underrated, getting 7-10 hours sleep every night will keep you energised, working out harder and aid your recovery.

If you aim to lead an active lifestyle, getting the hours in is crucial to performing to your best ability. Poor sleep and unrest can even make you crave bad foods, so make sure to catch those zzz's.

4. BE ACTIVE EVERYDAY

...for at least 30 minutes.

We all know we should, but sometimes chilling on the sofa with Netflix is so much more tempting. Trust us, we get it.

Getting your heart rate up for a decent amount of time everyday leads to better heart health and an all-round more positive mood, releasing those trusty endorphins. What's not to love?

5. LOVE YOURSELF

Never feel guilty for listening to what your body wants. Your mental wellbeing is just as important as your physical health.

If you're hungry, eat. If you're tired, rest

Look after yourself and remember, it's okay to not be okay sometimes. Give yourself a break and never be afraid to reach out for help if you need it.
