On repeat. It's day 2 @ #LiftManchester, and we're here once again with the latest updates.
Name: Darren Till
Hometown: Liverpool, England
Who is Darren?
Darren, (nickname: The Gorilla), is a mixed martial arts fighter in the Ultimate Fighting Champion. With 17 wins, no losses and sitting in the UFC welterweight number two spot, he’s pretty good at what he does.
Starting his Muay Thai training aged 12, Darren turned pro by the age of 15. Two years later, he made the switch to MMA.
After an incident in which he was stabbed twice in the back (missing his main artery by a millimetre), Darren was advised by his coach to continue his training in Brazil, sensing Liverpool may be detrimental to his career. This saw him move away for three and a half years (after an initial plan to stay for just six months).
Whilst in Brazil, Darren compiled an amateur record of 3-0 before turning pro. The rest, as they say, is history.
With 18 fights. 17 wins. 10 knockouts. 0 losses and UFC welterweight-number-2, the numbers really do speak for themselves.
So, what’s next for Darren Till?
Well, on the 8th of September, Darren is set to fight Tryon Woodley for the UFC Welterweight Championship in Dallas, Texas.
Darren has been widely tipped to become the face of British MMA.
Here at Gymshark, we’re behind him every punch and kick of the way.
