There are loads of books out there that can help you understand more about the lifestyle and motivate you to continue with your Veganuary journey.

Possibly the most well-known on the list, ‘How Not To Die’ by nutritionist, expert and physician, Michael Greger explores the top 15 causes of premature deaths in the US and looks at how we can help better our own health with a plant-based diet. 

Full of the latest research on health and nutrition, this book is the one to read if you’re looking to expand your knowledge on the implications your diet could be having on your health. 

Why We Love Dogs, Eat Pigs, and Wear Cows – Melanie Joy

The clue is in the name with this one. Social psychologist Melanie Joy explores the psychology behind eating meat and how what she calls ‘carnism’ compares to the vegan lifestyle. 

The book has received mixed reviews, but it is certainly one that will get you thinking. 

The Forks Over Knives Plan – Alona Pulde and Matthew Lederman

Packed full of nutrient-dense, plant-based recipes and advice, ‘The Forks Over Knives Plan’ takes the research gathered from the 2011 film and teaches how to make it into a lifestyle.
