Nobody does Instagram worthy breakfasts and brunches like Australians. Let’s face it – it’s not even about the food anymore. It’s about the location, the abundance of natural light, the décor, the presentation of the food (no matter how impractical) and how good everything would look together on a table for a photo.
Without further ado, take a look into the most instagrammable cafes that Sydney has to offer...
This veg-centric eatery screams healthy and wholesome from the moment that you walk into the warehouse setting. The menu changes daily, so each visit will be different, but you can always guarantee yourself a healthy and filling meal.
The communal vibe extends beyond beverages. There are six, long wooden tables and at peak times they are constantly at capacity. As soon as a seat vacates, people practically commando roll in to fill their spot. Knocking knees with your neighbours and asking them to pass the honey pot and pink salt flakes is all part of the fun.
Taking up residence in Bondi's trendy north side, Speedos Cafe is a favourite amongst locals and those just visiting.
Offering a variety of healthy foods - from acai bowls, to herbal teas, Speedos caters for vegans, whilst also including a variety of gluten and dairy-free dishes.
Whatever you do, make sure you come in hungry, this is one place where you will want to order the whole menu. But, get in early - this is one busy establishment, and it's worth every second that you wait.
One of Sydney's favourites - frequently used for meetings, coffee runs and of course, conveniently located across from a plethora of shops for the beauty fiends - it's the perfect location.
The décor resembles that of a greenhouse with patio furniture, hanging baskets of flowers, rustic wooden fit outs, all with an abundance of natural light flooding in, despite the location being inside of a shopping centre.
Right now, visiting The Grounds may take some military-style logistics, but your patience shall be well rewarded. The service is friendly and efficient, the food is excellent, their thumbs are green and they're brewing up a storm of locally roasted coffee to top it all off.
The Grounds aren't setting out to reinvent the wheel here. The menu contains elements common to most Sydney cafés; it's the execution that puts this place ahead of the pack - they manage the crowds admirably and project an atmosphere of casual professionalism that makes The Grounds feel more like a restaurant than a cafe.
Owned by a powerhouse sibling duo, this picture perfect café is the ideal pit stop after a day of shopping. With a menu that includes a winter-warming pork belly, stuffed mushroom and capsicum brekkie and baked barramundi – you’ll be spoilt for choice.
But who are we kidding, the drinks are where it’s at at The Vogue Café and they’ve got a rotating selection of model-like specials to keep you interested. From Nutella-packed thick-shakes to peach perfect frappes, they taste as good as they look. And while we’re on the topic of looks, this little café in Sydney takes their garnish to the next level. With sugar-rimmed tumblers, waffle cones, sour worms, raspberries and a whole host of other toppings ready and waiting to adorn your glass – don’t even think about leaving this café without grammin’ your beverage.
