New Year New Me? | Krissy Cela

New Year New Me? | Krissy Cela

Hey Gymshark Family,

I hope you are all well!

My name is Krissy Cela, you may have heard of me via Instagram!

I’m a Law Student, Personal Trainer, and Business owner. I have teamed up with Gymshark to help you all kick start this new year. Yes, we have all heard the saying “new year, new me” but when have you really meant it, and pursued it?

Well, let's make that change together.

Change can be scary, but change is also needed in order to grow and make progression. I want you to take that step forward and start this new year with a positive mind-set. Leave all that negativity behind, forget all those excuses, and start to do something amazing!

I have come up with 5 Tips to help you kick-start your fitness journey this year!

1. Set yourself a goal

I want you to make that goal; specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and in a certain time frame (S.M.A.R.T). Ask yourself; what is it you want to achieve, and why you want to achieve it? Is it measurable and achievable for you and your life? It must be realistic - please I encourage you all to make your goal realistic. The reason I stress this, is because if you make a goal unrealistic, you will be disappointed, focus on small achievable goals. Finally, set yourself a goal in a certain timeframe, so you can work extra hard to make it possible.

2. Track your progress

I’m a firm believer that pictures say it all. I personally hate scales, and always encourage my personal clients to take progress pictures. It can be so scary at first, but it will be worth it when you begin to see all the amazing changes your body is making.

3. Meal Prep

This is key! Meal prep will save you so much time and money. Did you know the average person spends nearly £3,000 eating out each year; that's enough money to buy you a holiday to Bali people! Stop giving your money to restaurants and start food shopping. Begin meal prepping and making food at home.

4. Be positive

You need to be positive and detach yourself from any form of negativity. Clear your mind and focus on the things that make you happy in life. Life is not always going to be great, and you will go through hard times, but you must remember to invest your energy in the good, and try to forget the bad. Positive energy and thoughts will lead to success.

5. Do Not Give Up

Remember these four little words every time you want to miss a gym session, or you can’t be bothered to do that final rep… Do NOT give up! I have been training for over 4 years and there are days, even weeks, where I feel so unmotivated, but if I give up and let my temporary demotivation get the better of me, I will not reach my goals. I will not make a change and I will not succeed. Never give up on your goals!

I hope you have found these tips helpful and informative. Next week we will be talking all about Meal Prepping for Success, so make sure you stay tuned for that one family.

Remember, Change is good!

See you soon,
