After a long day at school or work, we understand that curling up in bed with a good box set is more than tempting (trust us, we’ve been there…).
Just in case you’ve found yourself dodging the gym and feeling a bit unmotivated, we’ve got the perfect excuse to get you back on track. It’s National Fitness Day! To celebrate, we thought we’d share a few ways you can fight the fitness slump.
1. Go outside.
We get that you’re not always feeling the gym – but that doesn’t mean staying active is out of the question. Grab your trainers and a friend (furry friends allowed) and go for a walk, a hike or even just pop to the shops.
Getting yourself out the house can boost endorphins and help you to destress!
2. Get food focused!
Everyone knows that abs are made in the kitchen, and not everybody has time for a heavy gym session in the evening. Focus on cooking yourself a healthy, nutritious dinner. It’s easy to get pulled in by the age-old allure of the microwave meal, but you can find lots of healthier and just as tasty recipes online.
Ditching the gym never tasted so good!
3. Put on your power playlist.
Everybody’s got one! The tunes that you can’t help but move to – a high tempo, high energy playlist can help you get through the most difficult workouts. If you’re not feeling it, dancing is always an option.

4. Try HIIT!

5. Rest and relax.
Your mental health is just as important as feeling fit. Maybe your feeling sluggish because you’ve overdone it! We’ve all been there. If that’s the case, take the day to relax and don’t feel guilty about it. Getting enough sleep is crucial to having the right mentality to train.
