Christmas parties, family gatherings and other seasonal festivities might be fun, but, like most things they can also get in the way of your workout schedule.

Let's get one thing straight - taking time off to enjoy Christmas, is totally fine. However, if you're anything like us, missing a gym session for a mince pie and a glass of mulled wine, might lead to the ever-feared, gym FOMO.

So, here are our top tips for overcoming it. 

Take a social media detox 

Seeing other people hitting up the gym when you’re at home is a sure-fire way to get gym FOMO. 

Use Christmas as a time to take a social media detox and enjoy your time with your family and friends without feeling like you have to browse through your #fitspos social media feed.

Remind yourself of the bigger picture

We know it’s tough, but keep on reminding yourself that a week off of the gym is not going to ruin your progress.

Complete at home workouts

If you still want to train but can’t make it to the gym, a short at home workout is a great way to keep gym FOMO at bay.
