If you have never run before, jumping on the treadmill or heading out for a run can seem a little daunting. Not to fear, here are some of our top tips on how to start running.
LET'S FACE IT. ROUTINE IS NOT FOR EVERYBODY.
Anybody who works out on the regular knows that what first seemed like a quick, go-to workout can get extremely boring - especially, when you do the same continuous thing, day in, day out.
As we said, routine is not for everyone and that's where the versatility begins to kick in.
For some, it might be searching for a weekly group class with the "we can do this" mentality - for others, just simply getting out of the house with the attempt to reap the never-ending benefits of staying fit is enough to cause excitement and change their mindset. We pray that's the case anyhow.
So, without further ado - here are our top 5 ways to make your average, potentially beige workout that little bit more exciting...
1. Get Outside
You're always encouraged to find a way of bringing the great outdoors into your wellness journey. Why? Nature is good for our mental health, be it the fresh air or the peace and quiet - you'll know it when you feel it.
Your body craves diversity, so what better way to feed it what it wants than to get outside and try something new.
Walk. Go for a bike ride. Hit the water.
The opportunities are endless.
2. Switch Up Your Gym Routine
Sometimes getting out of the gym can be a rather nice break but, you can't deny that for regular daily workouts, it's usually the one place that will give you the results you're looking for.
So, make a point of trying a new piece of equipment or a new workout routine the next time you're there. Just make sure you've been shown how to use the equipment properly, pulled muscles and back problems weren't quite the idea we had in mind when we said to be versatile.
Who knows - the rowing machine may become your new BFF...
3. Find Your Anthem, Pump Up Your Playlist
It's individual. You know which songs push you further. You know the beat that allows for full focus.
The tunes thumping through your headphones are pretty powerful, in fact; the right ones can actually improve energy efficiency and help you power through the hardest moments of our fitness routines.
